The partnership between UTR and PTR has created a certification program run jointly by both organizations. The goal of the certification is to educate PTR members on UTR and running UTR and Verified UTR Events.
To become certified, PTR members must:
- Register for the certification and pay on the PTR website
- Attend the certification webinar, run monthly
- Pass the exam to be taken within 7 days of attending the webinar
- Run two events (with participants) within 60 days of attending the webinar
Q: How many attempts do I have to pass the exam?
A: Participants have two attempts to pass the exam. An 85% is required to pass.

A: The exam is 'open book' and a full list of resources is at the bottom of this article.
Q: What if I've already run events on the UTR platform?
A: Events up to 60 days prior to the date of the webinar can be counted for the two required events.
Q: Can I run events with a partner? Will we both get credit?
Q: Do I need to run 'paper' events or live events?
A: Actual events with real participants are required for the certification.
Q: When will I get my certification?
A: Certificates will be granted roughly 60 days after the webinar is attended.
Q: How do I know if I passed the exam?
A: The exam is multiple choice and your grade will be displayed to you and emailed to you once complete.
