Creating Draws: Feed-In Consolation

The Feed-In Consolation draw format is most commonly used for competitive junior tennis events as it allows players the opportunity to play more matches in an event by feeding the main draw players to the consolation draw beyond the first round. This draw format is also available for pickleball play.

To get started, select the "Event Desk" button on your event page.

Note: The event desk button will appear after the registration has been closed.

If no existing draws have been created, you can choose how you want to create your first draw. You can either Create Draw directly or select players from the All Players List to create your new draw. You can follow the full instructions in this article.

Pro-tip: The recommended draw size for this format is 16 to 128 players/teams.

Upon creating your draw, ensure that you are selecting the "Feed-in Consolation" draw format and the corresponding draw size. From here, you can select between FIC to QF or FIC to Rd 16 and tick the boxes below if you prefer to have a Playoff draw.

Note: 16 players/ 8 matches draw size will only be able to select FIC to QF and 3-4 Playoff Draw.

After you've populated your Players Bank, you can either set up matches manually or click "Auto-Fill" to fill the draw automatically:

If you choose autofill, you'll see a message like this:

Once you click "Confirm", the draw will be automatically filled.  It should have the players in matches and look something like this:

Once you start entering match scores, players who lose in the main draw until the designated feed in round (either Rd of 16 or QF) will be placed into the consolation draw.

Note: If the 3-4 and/or 5-6 playoff draw was selected during draw creation, players who lose in the main draw after the designated feed in the consolation will be automatically moved to the playoff draw.

When players move to consolation draw, they will be placed during certain rounds in reverse order at time in order to avoid repeat matchups.

Once the scores have been entered, don't forget to publish the draw!

Awesome! You have created a Feed-in Consolation draw!
